v0 is genuinely excellent at turning a text description into clean React components. The gap is everything the UI needs to actually function.

No Backend or API Routes

v0 generates UI components. When your form submits or your button fires an action, there’s no server logic to handle it — unless you write it yourself or we wire it in.

Authentication Is UI-Only

v0 can generate a login page that looks complete. The server-side session handling, protected routes, and user management layer are absent. Real users can’t log in.

No Database Connection

Forms appear to work in v0’s preview. In production, there’s no database behind them. Data entered by users goes nowhere without a connected data layer.

Payment UI Without Webhooks

v0 can scaffold a Stripe checkout UI. The webhook handler that confirms payment and updates your database requires backend code v0 doesn’t generate.

Deploy Config Needs Attention

Even deploying to Vercel requires correct environment variable setup, Next.js config, and deployment settings — none of which v0 configures automatically.

Component Loops on Complex Prompts

When v0 can’t implement something correctly, it regenerates the component repeatedly without converging. A developer can implement the requirement directly in the codebase.

Yes. v0 generates excellent UI but no server logic. We wire in the backend — API routes, database, auth, and business logic — using Next.js API routes or a separate backend service depending on your requirements.

v0 doesn’t scaffold authentication by default. What looks like auth in v0’s output is usually just UI components without the server-side logic that actually validates users, manages sessions, and protects routes. We add a complete auth layer using NextAuth.js or Clerk.

We bill at $70/hour with a minimum of 5 prepaid hours. For larger projects we provide a fixed quote after the free assessment. Adding a full backend to a v0 frontend typically takes 10–25 hours; adding auth and a database together runs 15–35 hours depending on complexity.
